Woodie Flowers, the co-creator of FIRST®, has been a fountain of inspiration for members of the international FIRST® community. Gracious Professionalism® is a term coined by Woodie Flowers that describes the process of partaking in activities that encourage high-quality work, emphasize the value of others, and respect individuals and the community. The term Gracious Professionalism® shaped not only FIRST® Robotics Challenge and FIRST® as a whole, but every member and coach affiliated with the program.
It’s time that Gracious Professionalism® was expanded beyond FIRST® because the lessons to be learned can be applied to every part of our lives.
